Frequently Asked Questions
Can I wait while my vehicle is being worked on?
We do offer the availability of waiting with your vehicle. However some of our jobs are more complex & will require the greater
part of a day to complete. We discourage waiting on these types of job.
Do you have a night key drop?
Our night key drop is under the carport on the front of the building by the main office door. Please fill out your name, phone number & requested work to be completed.
Will my car be completed the same day it is scheduled?
Most of our parts are in stock & in most cases a car that is scheduled for a 1 day appointment will be completed the same day.
Must I wait 3-4 weeks to get my car worked on?
Due to our busy schedule, wait times can often be 3-4 weeks for a 1 day appointment. To combat this we also offer the availability of dropping off your car anytime for a 3-5 day window (without an appointment) & we will work it into our schedule & complete it in that time frame.
Do my repairs come with a warranty?
Most repairs come standard with a 1 year parts & labor warranty. There are exclusions to this in some cases especially in cases where
converters failures are obviously caused by a misfire, fueling issue or other obvious causes. Melted converters are never warrantied!
Can I take my old converter along with me?
We strive to keep our pricing as budget friendly as possible. One way for us to do this is to price all our converter jobs “ WITH OEM
EXCHANGE” The estimate given to you for your converter replacement assumes we will retain your old converter. It also means you have received some credit built into your invoice for your old converter. If you were to still take your old converter along you could
anticipate a pricing increase. Unless prior arrangements have been made this is our standard policy!
Do you repair diesel exhaust manifolds?
Due to the fact diesel exhaust manifolds typically are much more labor intensive ( & our goal is to serve our customers as efficiently as possible) we currently DO NOT offer any diesel exhaust manifold repair services.
Will you delete my converters?
It is not legal to delete catalytic converters & therefore we do not offer this as one of our services.
Will it damage my car if I drive with my CEL flashing?
The only reason the CEL will flash is for the sole purpose of telling you that your car has a misfire bad enough to damage the catalytic converter. If your CEL is flashing, DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR! Have the car towed to a repair facility to prevent damaging your catalytic converter.
Will you install my parts?
We prefer to use our own quality parts. We will install your carry in parts, however this is billed at a higher rate than standard.
Do you have any other locations?
We do have another location in Mohnton Pa. DBA Gehman Exhaust Repair & Auto. Located at 123 Andrews Way Mohnton PA 19540. This
location offers exhaust system repairs, exhaust manifold & catalytic converter services. They do not offer custom dual exhausts, towing or Inspections.
What is it going to cost to replace my catalytic converter?
A good average cost on a universal weld in converter is approximately $350 per converter, parts & labor. A good average on exhaust manifold catalytic converters is $600 per converter, parts & labor. It is best to call our office to get a price quote for your specific vehicle.
